MUSIC NOTEBOOK
Sound Shop opens its shelves to local music
Music lovers who shop at Able Al’s Sound Shop in East Syracuse won't be able to buy anything but local discs on the racks.
Since 1995, Able Al's Electronic Service has helped Central New Yorkers with computer and electronic repairs.  Recently, owner Al Somlo decided to add discs put out by musicians with a Central New York connection.
Also, anybody who visits the store, at (previously at) 525 West Manlius St., will be greeted by the music of Central New Yorkers. Whenever the store is open, Somlo says, local music will be played on the sound system.

The shop is open noon to 6 pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  Somlo wants local musicians to bring in their discs for sale on a consignment basis.
CD-ROM discs also can be purchased through the store's Web site, at www.yrbook.com/soundshop/
.
