(The number 1 question of course is, "Sharon?!? Who the hell is that?" ;-) ******************************************************************************* Mobius Band 1967 Uni-Chotometrics This illustrates a true Mobius band with a disk moving along its single edge. One side is blue and the other is white. notice that 360 degrees in one direction gives us a mirror image or reversal of 'sides' to the disk . . . without leaving its one edge. This is a true Mobius band, which we call a Uni-Circle because it is a circle which has more than 360 degrees. 'Everybody' knows that when you have a circular band of something, such as a ring, and you trace around an edge with your finger and have gone 360 degrees in a circular motion, you will be back to where you started. You will also have NOT touched the other edge of the ring. (just good common sense) With a Uni-Circle, when you reach 360 degrees in a circular motion, you will be only HALF way around. You have to go another 360 degrees to reach where you started because it's one edge requires 720 degrees of motion to be complete. In doing this, you will begin to notice that you are unable to make accurate predictions about this 'strange' object. it does not fit into any prior experience -unless you have seen this object specifically, before. You can make one of these objects for yourself and drive your friends crazy by doing the following: Take a strip of paper about one inch in width and about twelve inches long. Twist one end of it a half twist, or 180 degrees and connect the ends together. You have now made an 'impossible' object. You can bet a friend that he can NOT paint one surface blue and the other one red. You can give him a 100 to 1 odds, (a hundred bucks to his one dollar) and be absolutely sure of always winning the bet. This is because there is ONLY one surface, even though the eyes tell you that there are two surfaces. This is part of what the book [1]"Uni-Chotometrics, A New Way of Life" is based on. This book, written 30 years ago, was the result of the author's near death experiences and was his effort to bring NEW ways of seeing, hearing and feeling the world of Nature. He found that life, nature, physics, electronics and even the brain can not be understood and a functional integration made with them as long as we operate with the concepts of equal and opposite ideas , theories and beliefs . ******************************************************************************* Well, that was our weirdness report of the day.
